CANNES – Nine entries from Thailand topped the shortlisted entries from Asia in Print & Publishing Lions at the 2018 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Ogilvy Group Thailand out of Bangkok led the way in Consumer Durables as ‘Dragon,’ ‘Whale, ‘King Kong,’ for client DKSH (Thailand) Ltd. and ‘Polyester,’ ‘Wool,’ and ‘Cashmere’ for client Thermos (Singapore) PTC Ltd. were shortlisted. TBWA\Thailand Bangkok completed the shortlisted entries from the nation with work on behalf of McDonald’s with ‘The Meeting,’ ‘Rooftop Soccer,’ and ‘Designer.’
Hong Kong had the next most shortlisted entries from the region with five as Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong snagged the honors for KFC Birdland (Hong Kong) Ltd. with ‘Dragster,’ Heroes,’ and ‘Shuttle’ in the Retail category. Not to be outdone, Cheil Worldwide Hong Kong earned shortlists in Consumer Durables for ‘Block out the chaos: World leaders’ and ‘Block out the chaos: Football managers’ for client JBL (ITECT) Ltd.
Dentsu Inc. out of Tokyo was shortlisted for ‘Emergency Collectibles’ for Kobe Shimbun in both the Adapted Print and Media/Entertainment categories. In the Leisure category, Dentsu Inc. Tokyo’s ‘Sumo Girls’ and ’82 Techniques’ for Hokkoku Shimbun, Inc. were also shortlisted.
