Independent singer, songwriter, producer, and pop visionary Lauv releases fan inspired track ‘Superhero’ today. Click HERE to listen and watch the accompanying video HERE.

The inspiration behind the track ‘Superhero’ came to Lauv in a unique way. On his tour earlier this year, he placed a blue box at the merch table at shows as a way for fans to get thoughts and feelings off their chest anonymously. Lauv later came across an entry that read, “I met a superhero. I lost her. I want her back.” He wrote this song after being inspired by the entry and afterward, found the anonymous songwriter to credit him and learn more about his story.

Lauv said about the song: “At my shows, I ask people to submit notes in a glowing blue box about whatever’s on their mind or whatever they’re feeling in that moment. I call it my “blue thoughts”, and this song was inspired by an anonymous note left in that box. I had no plans of writing this song, but 10 minutes after finding the note, it existed. I then set out to find who the mystery co-writer was to learn his story and get their blessing to tell it, and after weeks of searching, I did. So now today the song, video, and story are out, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with my fans and the rest of the world. This is superhero.”

Following career defining performances last week on Jimmy Fallon, the VMA’s and the Teen Choice Awards, Lauv’s single ‘I Like Me Better’ has been added to the Radio 1 B-List. This was in the wake of the single soaring to the Top 10 of America’s Top 40 radio. The single has now been on the US radio charts for 35 weeks, received platinum certification and has had over 500 million streams.
