The Asian Institute of Management (AIM), the asia pioneer in management education, has invited Nobel Laureate, Prof. Dan Shechtman to Manila to cap off its 50th anniversary celebrations on November 22 and 23.
Recipient of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Prof. Shechtman is globally recognized as a pre-eminent advocate of technological entrepreneurship, and has lectured widely on this topic. Prof. Shechtman is the Philip Tobias Professor of Materials Science at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, and also the Professor of Materials Science at Iowa State University.
The AIM community will have a chance to hear Prof. Shechtman on November 22 as he delivers the Keynote Address at its 50th Anniversary Gala Evening festivities.
The general public will have the opportunity to meet him the following day at a panel discussion dubbed “Game Changers: The Impact of Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship”. He will be joined by Mr. Jaime Zobel de Ayala of Ayala Corporation, Mr. Stan Shih of Acer Computers, Ms. Doris Magsaysay-Ho of the Magsaysay Group, DOST Sec. Fortunato de la Pena, founder N.R. Narayana Murthy of Infosys Ltd and Prof. Chris Monterola of the AIM School of Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (SITE), who will share their insights on Prof. Shechtman’s address and the importance of innovation and technological entrepreneurship in nationbuilding. This takes place at the Bonifacio Hall of Shangri-La at The Fort on November 23 at 11:00 a.m.
Tickets to the Game Changers event are priced at PhP 3,000/per person. Students with valid student ID cards can avail of discounted rates at Php 1,500/per ticket, sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
