MANILA, PHILIPPINES–On reaching the 10-year milestone of celebrating creativity from all over the Philippines’ over 7,000 islands and Asia’s wide array of cultures and countries, adobo Design Awards Asia has brought in a panel of astounding creative professionals from all around the world. With Asia Pacific Creative Kaiju of Hakahudo Inc., Yang Yeo, as Jury President leading the judging and insights from across the industry’s diverse set of jury members, the two-day judging session has brought to light the works that work both in a local and global scale.
The jury body discussed over 300 works over the course of two days in Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier and by noon of May 8, 2019, the shortlist has been determined. Here’s the full list:
Stealing the show in the Film categories is Petch&Partners Manila, with a total of 12 finalist spots across the different categories. Their powerful stories for Max’s Restaurant, “ALIENATION” and “RESOLUTIONS” and Skin White’s “Dark or White”, are shortlisted for most sub-categories under Film.
Coming second in with the most number of entries that have made it to the shortlist is TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno for their campaigns for Boysen – “This is a Tree”, Bench – “Generation Fluid” & “Kilala Na Kita”, Oishi – “Hack N Pack”, McDonald’s – “Un-plastic Bag”, and Bahay Tuluyan (Shelter House) – “Disgusting Stories”.
Thirteen astounding student works have also made it as finalists for the Open Theme (Student) category from iAcademy, Parsons the New School, DLS-College of St. Benilde and CIIT College of Arts and Technology, with MINT College earning eight spots, while the Open Theme (Professional / Freelancers) category holds four inspiring works.
The complete set of winners will be announced during the adobo Design Awards Asia ceremony on May 10 (Friday), 7PM at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier.
