AD STARS 2019: Asia Wins 340 Awards in Busan with 8 Grand Prix, 37 Gold, 87 Silver, 116 Bronze and 92 Crystal Awards

BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA – The 3-day creative festival of AD STARS 2019 wraps up with big celebrations as this year’s winners go onstage to accept their awards one by one, joining the show’s long list of victors from its 12 years of honoring creativity and its unique integration with cutting-edge technology.

This year, out of 20,645 entries submitted and 1,800 finalists, 340 submissions from Asia come out as winners. These winners come from 17 countries across the continent, each one having exhibited the finest sense of creativity and ingenuity among the thousands of entries submitted.

Asia came home with a long list of accolades for its astounding work this year: 8 Grand Prix, 37 Gold, 87 Silver, 116 Bronze and 92 Crystal.

Between the 17 Asian countries, Thailand leads with 65 wins in total, majority of which were awarded to Ogilvy Group Thailand with 24 agency wins. This includes 1 Grand Prix for the agency with “Deer” for Freeland Foundation under the Print: Corporate / Institution category.

Thailand was also awarded with one more Grand Prix win for GREYnJ United‘s “Face/Off” campaign for Kasikornbank Public Company Limited under the Branded Viral Videos category.

Serviceplan Korea‘s “Dot Mini” campaign for Dot Incorporation also won big, coming home with a Grand Prix for the Interactive: Electronics / IT/ Office Equipments / Home electronics & audio-visual / Business  Equipment & Services category.

“The Most Challenging Pingpong Table” of TBWA Hakuhodo received the Grand Prix award for its work with the Japan Para Table Tennis Association under the Design: Finance / Services / Entertainment & Leisure / Travel / Restaurants / Commercial  Public Services / Pets category.

The country that received the most number of Grand Prix wins was United Arab Emirates with a grand total of 4 awards, including the Grand Prix of the Year award.

Impact BBDO‘s “The Blank Edition” for An Nahar was the sole recipient of the Grand Prix award in UAE, bagging all the grand prize wins for the country, including GRAND PRIX OF THE YEAR for Peace & Justice. It also won the prize for Media: Use of print in a media campaign, PR: Public Affairs & Lobbying,and Social & Influencer: Brand Storytelling.
