Commenting on the appointment Renuka Jaypal, Ogilvy Indonesia’s Group CEO said: “With our continuous growth within the Indonesian market combined with a prediction in increase of ad spend for 2011, we feel now is the perfect time to invest in the future of our advertising unit and senior management of Ogilvy Indonesia. Martin brings to the table a unique blend of passion for creative, strategic content and good people skills. He’ll fit right into the Jakarta senior management team.”

Reporting to Jaypal, Duke assumes the day-to-day responsibilities of the advertising unit, which handles some of Indonesia’s, and the world’s, leading companies including brands from Unilever, Nestle, Konimex, Coke, to name a few.
"Martin comes to Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Indonesia as part of our perpetual hunt for the best talent," says David Mayo, President of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Asia Pacific. "He joins a successful, growing and progressive agency at a time when clients demand and deserve connected and integrated communications. I know Martin will have a catalytic effect on our future success in Indonesia."

Indonesia has been flagged as one of the key markets that will contribute to the overall global increase in advertising spend in 2011, with an expected USD 1 billion-plus in spending growth, while China and the US are expected to contribute at least USD 5 billion.

Concluded Renuka Jaypal: "If 2009 was the year for stability and 2010 the year for growth, 2011 is the year for innovation and more importantly, the year to raise the industry bar putting the market’s communication in its rightful place on the Asia Pacific map."
