ASIA-PACIFIC – BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA, APRIL 1, 2011 – AD STARS 2011 (BIAF: Busan International Advertising Festival), Korea’s only international advertising festival, has signed a partnership agreement with NXT STAGE Hollywood International Advertising Awards (NXT STAGE).
The AD STARS Organizing Committee, led by chairman Nam Sik Hur, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, announced on March 29 that AD STARS held a signing ceremony with NXT STAGE at ADFEST in Phuket, Thailand, agreeing on mutual cooperation and strengthening promotional activities.
Owing to its 15 years of success with the LA International Short Film Festival, NXT STAGE will hold its first international advertising festival this November. Fitting nicely with the characteristics of LA embracing Hollywood, NXT STAGE will accept and award works in three categories- film marketing, branded entertainment, and general advertisement pieces.
Under the partnership agreement, AD STARS 2011 will become an official global partner of NXT STAGE, and share exposure in their respective websites, as well as information regarding the submitted works through e-newsletters, and cooperate in promotion activities through social media like Twitter and Facebook. They will also share the key figures of the festival like the jury and speakers for mutual assistance.
Eui Ja Lee, chairperson of AD STARS Executive Committee, revealed, “The birth of NXT STAGE has a similar background to AD STARS as it credits the success of Busan International Film Festival for its growth. We will do our best to promote AD STARS through the partnership so that it can gain wider publicity in North America.”
AD STARS 2011, now in its fourth year, will build an ‘AD STARS Village’ for festival visitors, tourists and Busan citizens, with booths for the public brands of nations, cities, and NGOs from all over the world. The brands will also be promoted online. Outdoor stages will be installed near AD STARS 2011 Village for like Beach Ad Night where participants can view the world’s most interesting advertising works.
AD STARS 2011 will be held at the Busan Haeundae Grand Hotel and in nearby venues from August 25 to 27.
