Campaign AOY 2019: APAC Agencies, Individuals Awarded – Ogilvy Bags Top Awards, Kasper Aakerlund Wins Agency Head of the Year

SINGAPORE – 26 years since it started, Campaign’s Agency of the Year awards has been recognizing outstanding work, performance, inspiring leadership and management excellence in advertising and brand communications. The awards are made open to all media, advertising, creative, digital, PR, independent and specialist agencies from across the region, as well as the UK; while a similar scheme is open specifically for the EMEA region.

This year’s awards looked into different segments within the region, including Australia and New Zealand, Greater China, Japan and Korea, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Bagging several awards and claiming top spot is Ogilvy, which sweeped 8 top honors in total during this year’s competition.

For APAC, Ogilvy was named as Network of the Year, and Digital Network of the Year, while Mindshare Media received Network of the Year.

Top individuals were also awarded. UM APAC Singapore’s Kasper Aakerlund was named as Agency Head of the Year, while Nihar Das MediaCom Singapore was given the Account Person of the Year title. Archana Ram of MediaCom Singapore, meanwhile, was named Strategic/Brand Planner of the Year; and UM APAC New Business Development Team meanwhile won Asia-Pacific New Business Development Team Award.

Several other awards were also granted, including Best Place to Work which was won by Ogilvy Australia; TBWA bagged Best Culture; Mindshare Singapore took home Performance Agency of the Year with DotMatters Thailand; Xaxis once again received Programmatic Agency of the Year; Malaysia’s ADA won Tech Agency of the Year.
