SINGAPORE — Last night at the Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore, awards were given out to the best creative works, teams, and individuals in the industry who shone the brightest at the Campaign Southeast Asia Agency of the Year Awards 2019. WPP agencies won a big chunk of the trophies given out, including “Southeast Asia Creative Agency of the Year” and “Southeast Asia Digital Agency of the Year” which Ogilvy brought home, while the “Southeast Asia Media Agency of the Year” was crowned to Mindshare.
Ogilvy bagged the most awards with 14 new accolades, winning not only the biggest regional titles mentioned above but also PR and Social Media Agency of the Year. The group’s astounding creative work was also recognized with nine golds — including both Creative and Digital Agency of the Year in the Philippines and Thailand, and Digital Agency of the Year in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar — plus three silvers and two bronzes.
The other big winner of the night is Mindshare, which was honored with 12 accolades in total. It won gold as Media Agency of the Year in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam; Gold in Digital Agency of the Year in Indonesia and Vietnam; and won two awards in the talent category for Southeast Asia Agency Head of the Year (Shankar Rajagopal) and Southeast Asia Channel/Engagement Planner of the Year (Mai Do).
The Creative Agency of the Year Golds per country are as follows: ERA Myanmar (Myanmar), TBWA\ (Indonesia), Ensemble Worldwide (Malaysia), Ogilvy Philippines (Philippines), TBWA\ Singapore (Singapore), Ogilvy Group Thailand (Thailand), and Happiness Saigon (Vietnam).
In the Digital Agency of the Year category, Golds were given out to: TODAY Ogilvy (Myanmar), Mindshare (Indonesia), Ensemble Worldwide (Malaysia), Ogilvy Philippines (Philippines), MRM//McCann (Singapore), Ogilvy Group Thailand (Thailand), and Mindshare (Vietnam).
The Media Agency of the Year Golds honored the following groups from across Southeast Asia: Mindshare (Indonesia), Universal McCann (Malaysia), Mindshare Philippines (Philippines), MediaCom (Singapore), Mindshare (Thailand), and Mindshare (Vietnam).
Among the Independent Agencies across the region, the ones that brought home Gold are: nexlabs (Myanmar), RedComm Indonesia (Indonesia), Ampersand Advisory (Malaysia), Seven A.D. (Philippines), The Secret Little Agency (Singapore), CJ WORX and Spore Bangkok (Thailand), and Ki Saigon (Vietnam).
