GLOBAL – JUNE 2011 – The Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA) has announced that it will orchestrate the next installment of its signature unConference series on June 22nd in Cannes, France during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity ̶ the world’s largest gathering of creative professionals in the communications industry. The unConference will take place on the Croisette at the beautiful beachfront venue, Plage Goéland, on Cannes Cyber Day, June 22, from 4-6pm.
“We are thrilled to be organizing our inaugural Cannes event in order to bring SoDA’s unique unConference forum to the Festival this year…these events invariably spark candid, no holds barred conversations around the issues that are top of mind for digital marketing leaders,” said Tony Quin, Chairman of SoDA and CEO of the US-based agency IQ.
The SoDA gathering will feature an afternoon of knowledge exchange, networking and open dialogue on an array of topics, from diversifying beyond digital, to promoting innovation amidst an increasingly litigious sea of patent trolls, to the rapidly evolving world of digital publishing for multiple screens.
“The explosion in mobile devices is a challenge and opportunity for creatives, and SoDA is playing an important role in educating and preparing our industry as we look to deliver high-impact content and applications across media,” said Bill Rusitzky, Vice President of Corporate Development at Adobe. “The radical changes we are seeing in digital publishing, where tablet devices are shaking up the advertising and publishing industries, is just one of the topics we look forward to exploring at unConference in Cannes.”
The event is being planned with support from SoDA’s organizational sponsor, Adobe Systems Inc. and SoDA partner, Creative Social.
