ASIA-PACIFIC – JULY 26, 2011 – Leo Burnett Melbourne has been appointed by Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Co. as its lead strategic and creative agency following a pitch.  
 
Warrnambool Cheese and Butter (WCB) is one of Australia’s largest milk processors, a major exporter of dairy products and is the only listed dairy company in Australia. Its production facilities in Warrnambool, Victoria produces Sungold milk, FM flavored milk and Warrnambool specialty cheese.
 
“We have big ambitions to grow our own consumer product business over the next five years, and see opportunity in a number of dairy segments. Leo Burnett brings a wealth of strategic experience and creative firepower, which is what we need to help us realize that vision,” said David Lord, CEO of WCB.

Last week, WCB announced the appointment of Richard Lange to head up marketing for consumer products.  Lange has spent many years in agri-business, most recently as Head of Marketing and Communications for Dairy Australia.
 
The appointment of Leo Burnett Melbourne comes off the back of a string of new business wins for the agency, including new clients such as Satterley Property Group, The Arts Centre and Freehills.
