THE PHILIPPINES – OCTOBER 2011: Now on its 33rd year, the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) handed out a total of 55 major awards and 25 special citations, with eight advertising awards, in recognition of print, television, radio, film, and advertising works that exemplified Christian values. The awards night was held last October 19 at the San Carlos Seminary in Makati City.
The Publicis network copped three awards, with Publicis Manila winning the Best Branded TV Ad rock trophy for “The t” for Nestle Philippines and a special citation for “Pag-ibig”, also for Nestle. Publicis JimenezBasic, meanwhile, received a nod for Best Branded Print Ad for its work “Faith” for Manila Bulletin.

RocketScience "The Journey" Phoenix Petroleum
Independent agency Rocket Science tied with Publicis Manila for the Best Branded TV Ad, winning the trophy for “The Journey”, made for Phoenix Petroleum.J. Romero and Associates boosted the independents, with “Rosaryo” (PLDT) winning the second Best Branded Print Ad of the night.
ABS-CBN and DZMM each won an award for Best Public Service TV Ad, with “Sobre” and “Ang Laban ng Buhay”, respectively, while the Best Public Service Radio Ad went to Admix Inc. for “Buhay ay Buhay”.
In the Student category, "Sha" from First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities and “Text” from Colegio de San Juan de Letran won Best Public Service TV Ad. Letran also bagged the Best Student Public Service – Radio Ad for “Kwento” and the Print equivalent for “1 Oras”. Lyceum of the Philippines received a Special Citation for the Public Service – Print Ad category for “Shade”.
There was no clear winner among the broadcast networks, as ABS-CBN and GMA split the awards almost evenly. However, it was ABS-CBN who went home with four Hall of Fame Awards for Best News TV Program (TV Patrol), Best Magazine TV Program (Rated K), Best Radio Drama (Maalaala Mo Kaya sa DZMM), and Best News Radio Program (TV Patrol sa DZMM).
The CMMA was organized in 1978 by the late Jaime Cardinal Sin, with a vision and mission of rewarding and paying tribute to media products that enhance the human development of the Filipino audience through the competent and professional use of mass media and promoting the basic human values of love for God, respect for the natural environment, promotion of positive Filipino values, and love for life.
