PARIS, FRANCE – Birth Productions has signed directing duo Zhang & Knight, and celebrating it with a new music video directed by the pair for Moroccan artist Meryem Aboulouafa.
Zhang & Knight’s career was built through beautifully directed music videos and enigmatic pieces for artists like Ghostpoet, Nao, Sigrid and EDEN.
Their uniquely dreamy pieces won them Best New Director at the UKMVAS as well as the Kinsale Shark Awards, and their work has been written about in publications such as Vogue, Dazed and Rolling Stone as well as newspapers such as the Evening Standard and the Metro. In 2020 they were selected for the BFI’s Flare mentorship programme. Driven by striking visuals and poetic storytelling, they love to craft emotional and enigmatic worlds within their films.
In this project for Meryem Aboulouafa’s new track “Deeply”, the music video highlights a powerful and successful collaboration between the duo and Birth’s family of directors. Birth shared its pride in introducing this new talent in the team through this wonderful piece of work.
This new track extract from her upcoming album deeply imposes her rich universe and proves her talent as a multifaceted songwriter. Aboulouafa already announced a beautiful musical promise, a promise kept thanks to the staging of Zhang & Knights which invites us to escape from reality thanks to their color’s work.
