MANILA, PHILIPPINES– Filipinos are known for their diskarte (resilience and resourcefulness), especially when it comes to overcoming their financial struggles during the lockdown.
TBWA\Manila celebrates this unique Filipino value in its first campaign for Diskartech, the country’s newest financial app that competes with established local mainstays GCash and PayMaya.
The campaign includes a series of online videos that introduce the “MadiskarTeam,” – three everyday characters who fight their way through the lockdown, all played by actor Christian Bables.
“Tetchie,” a techie small store owner, shares how she was able to expand her store through earning from the app. “Daisy,” a door-to-door seller, talks about how she lost sales during the lockdown, but managed to bounce back with the app. Finally, “Karlo,” an online seller, encourages Filipinos to deposit their savings in DiskarTech.
The videos banner DiskarTech’s Member-Get-Member promo, where users can earn P30 per referral, and the 3.25 percent savings interest, one of the highest currently being offered for basic deposit accounts.
Social content, radio, and OOH materials were also launched to push for app installs.
Since launch, DiskarTech has hit almost two million app downloads and claimed top spot among free finance apps, and the top two spot overall on Google Play
