MADRID, SPAIN– Señora Rushmore has just presented its second project for eLaLiga Santander, a new spot within the global “What cannot be, can be” campaign launched last month, inaugurating the 20/21 season in a few weeks.
In this edition, eLaLiga Santander opens the doors of its championship and announces that starting this very season, FIFA fans will be able to compete from 16 different countries (including USA, China, Russia, Mexico and Brazil) through the eLaLiga Santander Fan Cup.
Given this possibility, Señora Rushmore’s newest piece for the competition wants to warn new participants of one of Spain’s idiosyncrasies regarding international players, so they don’t get overly confident. Spain is a country that demands a lot from international players where “outsiders” often find they don’t play as well as they did in their home countries. The spot reflects on this insight, challenging FIFA fans who dare to try their luck in the eLaLiga Santander Fan Cup.
Like the rest of the campaign, this piece was directed by Keane Pearce and produced by Blur, with post-production by Bliss.
eLaLiga Santader Fan Cup intends to make the competition accessible to La Liga and FIFA fans who are interested in participating in this competitive format for the first time. Different regional phases will be disputed from November to May, leading up to the grand finale.
eLaLiga Santander is EA Sports FIFA21’s official competition in Spain, which unites the collaborative efforts of La Liga and Electronic Arts (EA), its developer. The championship began with the 2017-2018 season with 10 clubs.
