CANNES, FRANCE — The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is finally here, and throughout the week, exemplary works from brands and businesses all over the world will be awarded for groundbreaking ideas and creative excellence. Leading up to the award nights, shortlists will be continued to be announced as well.
For the festival’s second day, the winners in the categories under the Entertainment section will be announced. This includes Entertainment Lions, Entertainment Lions for Gaming, Entertainment Lions for Music, and Entertainment Lions for Sport.
The shortlists for these categories have been unveiled as well, with agencies from eight Asian countries — Lebanon, Israel, Japan, India, UAE, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Thailand — making the cut.
Agencies based in Asia especially thrived in the Entertainment Lions for Gaming with 11 shortlists in the category. This was led by “Unbranded Menu” for McDonald’s by Leo Burnett Manila from the Philippines and “Fighting to Remember” for Zikaron BaSalon by McCann Tel Aviv from Israel.
Another notable feat belongs to “Airtel 175 Replayed” for Airtel Telecommunications. This work by Leo Burnett Mumbai from India secured six shortlist places across two different categories in the section — four for Entertainment Lions and two for Entertainment Lions for Sport.
