Awards: 42nd AWARD Awards winners announced

AUSTRALIA — A total of 58 Gold pencils were awarded across 25 different campaigns, with a further 58 Silver and 117 Bronze pencils awarded.

CHE Proximity, which took home eight Gold pencils – four each for its First Saturday and Where Babies Come From campaigns – was crowned Agency Network of the Year. This is the first time this award has been handed out in its new form following a major overhaul of the AWARD Awards in 2020 which repositioned the Network of the Year category to recognise specific agency brands instead of holding companies as in past years.

Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne, Special Group New Zealand and WiTH Collective received six Gold pencils. Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand was next in line receiving four Golds, closely followed by Revolver, TBWA\New Zealand, and The Glue Society with three Golds each.

Revolver was named Production Company of the Year for the second consecutive year.

The winners from Asia include Wolf BKK with 2 Gold Pencils, ADK Taiwan with 1 Gold, and GIGIL Philippines with also 1 Gold.

Furthermore, two Golds each went to DIVISION, Herd MSL, The Monkeys Melbourne, and The Pool Collective.

ADK Taiwan, AIRBAG, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Leo Burnett, McCann Australia, Rumble Studios, Sweetshop, Thinkerbell all picked up one Gold each.

Marketing Team of the Year was awarded to NRMA.

The 42nd AWARD Awards Jury Chairs were: Claudia Cristovao (Google) for Digital, Mandie van der Merwe (M&C Saatchi) for Press, Poster and The Dark Arts, Tom Martin (Special Group) for Media Thinking, Samira Ansari (FCB New York) for Impact, Jamie Mitchell (M35) for Design, Ant Melder (Coffee Coca Gunpowder) for Culture, Justine Armour (Grey New York) for Sound, Laura Petruccelli (Goodby, Silverstein & Partners) for Film, Kim Gehrig (Revolver / Somesuch) for Craft in Motion, Genevieve Hoey (Freelance) for Life-Changing, Chrissy Blackburn (West 82nd) for APG Creative Strategy and Brand Building.

Once again this year AWARD highlighted the top five production companies and for the first time the Agency Network of the Year awarded to the agency brand with the most winning work.

Winners of Special Awards will be announced at the AWARD Awards Pencil Bar, part of the upcoming AWARD Creative Festival to be held at the Ovolo in Sydney from 10 to 17 August. Special Awards categories include Individual Agency of the Year, Individual Creative or Team of the Year, Individual Director of the Year, Emerging Creative or Team of the Year, Emerging Director of the Year, Emerging Indigenous Creative Talent, The Grand Award and the APG Grand Award.
