Awards: ADFEST 2021 reveals winners, four Grande trophies in online ceremony

PATTAYA, THAILAND– ADFEST has announced the winners of its 2021 iteration today in an online ceremony. Its highest accolade, the Grande trophy was given to four winners:

  • Direct Lotus Grande: Wunderman Thompson Thailand, Bangkok for Thai Airways’ ‘Stay Home Miles Exchange’
  • Film Lotus Grande: Wolf BKK, Bangkok for Central Midnight Sale ‘Shop Unfriend’
  • Media Lotus Grande: TBWA, Sydney for ‘Play NZ’ created for Tourism New Zealand with Mindshare, Sydney
  • Grande for Humanity : ‘Bonds Out Now’ for Bonds, by Leo Burnett Melbourne

Design Lotus had Pocky the Gift for its gold winner under packaging design and silver for integrated design campaign. The other silver was won by SIX INC., TOKYO for KENSHI YONEZU “A CIPHERED RELEASE OF MUSIC VIDEO : STRAY SHEEP CODE”
Under Film Lotus, SOUR BANGKOK scored gold for MAEPRANOM; TAPROOT DENTSU, MUMBAI scored silver for FACEBOOK POOJA DIDI; and GIGIL also scored silver for RC COLA FAMILY.
Under New Director Lotus, GRAPH STUDIO SDN BHD, KUALA LUMPUR won silver for KANCIL AWARDS 2019 SETTING MOON.
Two entries have made it into the eCommerce Lotus—DENTSU INC., TOKYO for TUNA SCOPE 2020; and WUNDERMAN THOMPSON THAILAND, BANGKOK for THAI AIRWAYS DESTINATION MENU—both of which are silver.

Under Outdoor Lotus, LEO BURNETT MELBOURNE got gold for BONDS OUT NOW. Meanwhile, those that got silver are DAIKO & DAIKO WEDO, TOKYO for BURGER KING JAPAN TRU KING LISTENS; UNITED COMMUNICATION GROUP/ UNI-SURF DIGITAL MARKETING, TAIPEI for BRAUN X FORMOSA CHANG, and; LEO BURNETT MELBOURNE for BONDS OUT NOW under the subcategory integrated outdoor campaign.

Apart from having one of the Grande trophies, Media Lotus had two golds, four silvers, and two bronzes. BONDS OUT NOW by LEO BURNETT MELBOURNE made a gold under the use of print, outdoor, and transit subcategory. The other gold was awarded to “BRAUN X FORMOSA CHANG” by UNITED COMMUNICATION GROUP/ UNI-SURF DIGITAL MARKETING, TAIPEI, which also scored a silver under the subcategory use of guerrilla marketing.
Still under Media Lotus, DUTCH MILL “THE SECRET SUPPORTER” by CJ WORX, BANGKOK and THE MINDEROO FOUNDATION “WALK FREE” by LEO BURNETT SYDNEY both got silver.

 Under Direct Lotus, THAI AIRWAYS “STAY HOME MILES EXCHANGE” by WUNDERMAN THOMPSON THAILAND won gold. 

FACEBOOK POOJA DIDI by TAPROOT DENTSU MUMBAI; and THE CHEERING BANDAGE by INNOCEAN WORLDWIDE SEOUL got gold under Digital Lotus while the latter was also awarded silver under the use of social subcategory.
Under Mobile Lotus, THAI AIRWAYS “STAY HOME MILES EXCHANGE” by WUNDERMAN THOMPSON THAILAND scored gold under resilience through creativity sub-category and silver under the use of technology for mobile subcategory. 
WARNER MUSIC “UNSUNG” and TOURISM NEW ZEALAND “PLAY NZ” both won gold under the PR Lotus. Meanwhile, the silver winners are BRAUN X FORMOSA CHANG by UNITED COMMUNICATION GROUP; HOPE TAPE by CHEIL WORLDWIDE, SEOUL, and; THAI AIRWAYS “STAY HOME MILES EXCHANGE” by WUNDERMAN THOMPSON THAILAND.
For Press Lotus, MCDONALD’S BURGER & ME CAMPAIGN was the sole silver winner.
For the special awards, ONE COOL PRODUCTION CO., LTD. BANGKOK was named production company of the year; MINDSHARE SYDNEY is media agency of the year; WUNDERMAN THOMPSON THAILAND is agency of the year and THAI AIRWAYS INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC COMPANY LIMITED is advertiser of the year.
Meanwhile, WUNDERMAN THOMPSON THAILAND and INNOCEAN WORLDWIDE SEOUL tied for Digital Agency of the Year. SOUR BANGKOK is independent agency of the year and HAKUHODO is network of the year.
