Awards: Asia takes home 139 statues at the 2021 London International Awards

NEW YORK, USA — The prestigious London International Awards (LIA), continuing its tradition of a total focus on creativity is pleased to reveal its 2021 winners from across 25 media.

LIA, which was created for creatives, awarded 16 Grand LIAs, 148 Gold, 332 Silver, and 467 Bronze winners. There were also 340 finalists who made the shortlist. The high-caliber judges from across the planet judged virtually over several weeks; each juror viewed and scored every entry within their medium before meeting together in virtual judging rooms. Each jury along with their president convened virtually for the final round of judging to decide the trophy winners and ensure all work was judged equally through careful deliberations and robust discussions.

Asia took home 139 statues at LIA 2021, including a Grand LIA, 18 Gold, 50 Silver, and 70 Bronze statues. They also attained 73 finalists.

Ogilvy was named Global Network Of The Year and Regional Network Of The Year for Asia. Wins from Ogilvy Beijing, Ogilvy Shanghai, Ogilvy Hong Kong, Ogilvy India, Geometry Ogilvy Japan, Ogilvy Pakistan, Ogilvy Philippines, Ogilvy Singapore, Ogilvy Taiwan, Ogilvy Group Thailand, and Memac Ogilvy Dubai contributed to this award.

Dentsu Inc., Tokyo was awarded the Package Design Grand LIA for Pocky titled “The Gift”. In addition, they were awarded five Gold, three Silver, four Bronze statues, and a Finalist. These statue wins brought the agency the success of being named Regional Agency Of The Year for Asia.

PEN Inc., Tokyo, and Creative Power Unit, Tokyo tied for Regional Design Company Of The Year for Asia; both companies being credited for work for Pocky titled “The Gift” that won Dentsu Inc. three statues – a Grand, a Gold, and a Silver.

Ashwini Deshpande, Co-founder / Director of Elephant Design and LIA Design and Package Design Jury President stated, “When you see good work, it doesn’t just do what it’s supposed to, it moves you emotionally. This year, the focus of the jury was to award work that’s delightful, authentic, and that seizes the moment. The Burger King rebranding for Design and Pocky “The Gift” for Package Design are outstanding pieces of work that fulfill those criteria.”

Knights Media & Films, Mumbai was named Regional Production Company Of The Year for Asia, being credited for work won by Ogilvy Singapore.

Barbara Levy, President of LIA, said, “Asia has once again shown the power of its creativity. There is a Grand LIA in Package Design from Japan. And Ogilvy has been named Global Network of the Year with strong support in the statue tally from China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and United Arab Emirates. Congratulations to all winners!”

In total, 963 LIA statues and 340 finalists were awarded to 53 countries with the United States leading with 217 awards, followed by the United Kingdom with 93, Germany with 92, and Australia with 75 statue winners.
