Uy who received the award. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication that we have put into building a world-class digital highway for the country.”
The prestigious Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) is a regional award recognition program recognizing entrepreneurial excellence. The APEA is the recognition program of Enterprise Asia, a leading Asian non-government organization aimed at promoting entrepreneurship.
APEA honors business leaders and organizations that have shown outstanding performance and tenacity in developing successful businesses, while not neglecting the social responsibilities that come with leadership. All of the nominees have undergone a stringent evaluation, judging process, and a mandatory audit before being selected as the winners in all respective categories.
The Corporate Excellence Category is awarded to enterprises that have demonstrated sustainable growth, responsible leadership, and operational excellence. The Master Entrepreneurial Category is awarded to business leaders who have demonstrated entrepreneurial attributes that make them role models to others, and have the tenacity and perseverance to continue innovating and making a difference under adverse situations and environments
Opening the awards night, President of Enterprise Asia, Richard Tsang said, “This year’s theme of the APEA is ‘The Great Reset: Towards a Sustainable Recovery’. The pandemic has torn into the very foundation of our societies and our economies. As business leaders, we have the opportunity to take bold steps to reshape our economies.”
“I hope this award will inspire other budding entrepreneurs to work hard, pursue their dreams and help uplift the lives of others,” said Converge’s Uy.
Converge is well on track with its nationwide expansion as it connects the Visayas and Mindanao to its national domestic backbone, reaching millions of unserved and underserved households and businesses in the country. With only around 12% of the market currently supported by fiber connectivity, Converge aims to reach 55% household coverage by 2025.
