MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Strategic communications consultancy ALPAS just bagged a nomination for Boutique PR Consultancy in the PR Awards Asia 2022, after only about two years in the industry.
Founded in June 23, 2020 during the height of the pandemic, ALPAS, or “to break free” in Tagalog, is a proudly Filipino consultancy that strives to offer breakthrough communications and government relations solutions for its clients.
“The decision to launch ALPAS in 2020, even in the midst of the pandemic, was challenging, but I believe we were rewarded for taking this bold and risky step because we have seen unprecedented growth in the last year. Being shortlisted in the PR Asia Awards is a big honor and a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone in the team,” Marzie Marzan, co-founder and CEO of ALPAS shared.
Prior to co-founding ALPAS, Marzan spent over five years at The Eon Group, where she successfully led the Risk and Reputation unit in handling crisis communications, public affairs, and government relations for clients. She also previously worked as a member of the communications team of the Office of the President.
Atty. Carlo Escalada, a veteran in government relations and ALPAS Chief Strategy Officer, shared that their goal was always to impact the current landscape of public relations. “We are a young and dynamic team bound together by our love for our country, passionately believing that we can offer unique and meaningful solutions for our clients.”
Escalada had previously worked in the Office of the President and Senate of the Philippines, bringing with him over 15 years of experience in government relations and grassroots organization.
In its first year, ALPAS has already worked with clients across a variety of industries, including health, construction, real estate, food & beverage, technology, and non-government organizations. Their work engaging health and lifestyle reporters for their Health Connect series with Sanofi Philippines recently earned them the Bronze award for Best Media Relations Strategy as well as a nomination for Best Stakeholder Engagement at the Gold Standard Awards, while their campaign with Yield Guild Games has also been shortlisted for Best Technology Campaign at the PR Awards Asia.
ALPAS brands its main services with Filipino terms that embody the solutions they offer. This includes Dagitab (strategic communications), Lagablab (crisis management), Sidhi (government relations), and Uwahig (digital communications). ALPAS also provides social listening analyses in the form of their Dinggin reports that help clients better understand the current landscape of trends and discussions online. Most recently, it’s published Dinggin: Halalan 2022, a special research series on the 2022 Philippine National and Local Elections.
