SINGAPORE – Spikes Asia has today released shortlists across 23 categories. From an initial 3,223 entries, 682 pieces of work have made it onto the shortlists and will now compete to be awarded APAC’s most prestigious creative branded communications accolade.
The work is being judged by a diverse group of 83 creative leaders from across APAC and the world. Australia lead the shortlists with 169 pieces of work, followed by India and New Zealand who are tied with 93 each.
Shortlists have also been released for the Tangrams, which recognise strategy and effectiveness in the region and for 2021 are sponsored by InMobi. Juries are judging work across five categories – Effectiveness, Media Strategy, Digital Strategy, Data & Analytics and eCommerce – and have shortlisted a total of 90 entries. China leads the rankings with 22 pieces of work shortlisted.
Judging for the Spikes Asia Awards, as well as the Tangrams Awards and Young Spikes competitions has been taking place throughout February. In place of the live Awards Ceremony, winners will be announced via the Spikes Asia online platform, with the Bronze, Silver and Gold winners released on 1 March and the Grand Prix and Special Award winners announced on Mar. 4.
Speaking about the awards, Philip Thomas, Chairman, Spikes Asia, said, “This year also marks the release of our first Spikes Asia Creativity Report. Pulling together regional rankings and analysis of the 2021 winners, it will provide the definitive benchmark for creativity in APAC. As a resource that we will publish annually after each Spikes Awards, we’ll be able to build a comprehensive overview of industry performance and help the region understand how to continue to drive forward.”
Also released today are the winners of the Young Spikes Competitions. The Film and Integrated competitions provide Asia Pacific’s next generation of creative talent a unique chance to gain recognition and make their mark on the industry.
