MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Celebrating the most innovative campaigns, the Boomerang Awards returns this year bigger than ever. As the culminating event for IMMAP Digicon Valley 2022, the Boomerangs, held last October 14, is a coveted local metal as a benchmark for creativity, effectiveness, and innovation.
“Save Our Sharks” by Marine Wildlife Watch of The Philippines (MWWP) and Octopus & Whale was awarded a grand slew of trophies including the Best of Show, Marketing Tech Innovation of the Year, Advertiser of the Year, Gold for White Boomerang Pivot Innovation, two Silvers for Branded Experience and Small Budget.
Agency of the Year and Marketing Tech Innovator of the Year Propel Manila also took home two Silvers under Entertainment and Social, and one bronze under Digital Media for “Retold with Pride” for Globe and Pride@Tech. It also won silver under Commerce for “MindNation 10.10 Real Retail Therapy.”

The first ever GrabAds Superapp Boomerang was awarded to BBDO Guerrero for “Selecta Happinas,” while Dentsu Jayme Syfu took home the Purple Boomerang for “WeMen for Women” and NuWorks Interactive won the Blue Impact Boomerang for “Chuckie Snack N’ Play.”
BBDO Guerrero also won silver under Branded Experience and bronze under Entertainment for “Pepsi Can Light Stick.” The agency was also recognized with a bronze Entertainment trophy for DTI “Our Gift to the World.”
Under silver, Mullenlowe TREYNA won the Digital Media category for “Magparehistro Ka,” the same campaign also got bronze for the White Boomerang category. The agency also received bronze under the Search category for “Knorr Their Future” and another bronze under Creator and Influencer Marketing for “Avon #ComeAsYouAre.”
Wunderman Thompson Philippines won one silver under Direct, and one Bronze under Data for “MCDONALD’S APP,” while Leo Burnett won two bronze awards, both under Branded Experience for “McDonald’s Classroom 2.0” and “Ride-Thru Light Show.”
Meanwhile, Ogilvy & Mather Philippines took home a bronze metal under Data for “Rockwell Land – Performance Acceleration Campaign,” and Dentsu Jayme Syfu’s work with MindNation “Sound Mind Daily,” earned a bronze under UX/UI. Under the same category, Mindshare Philippines won a bronze for “U-COINVille’s Foray into Web 3.0.”
