Events: Get ready for a creative awakening in the upcoming Gerety Jury Insights from Singapore

SINGAPORE — The 2021 Executive judging sessions are about to begin followed by live jury panel discussions around the world.

Going LIVE on Friday June 11, 2021 AT 3 PM UTC+08 – 4 PM UTC+08, the jury insight panel from Singapore is one of a series of unique events held around the world between June 7 and June 17. They will discuss entries from this year’s Gerety Awards, which is the only creative prize to reward the best in advertising from the female vision.

The Singapore panel is moderated by Angel Guerrero, Founder, President, Editor-in-Chief of adobo magazine and includes:

Koh Hwee Peng, Creative Partner, Blak Labs

Hwee Peng has worked with top agencies like Batey, TBWA, Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, Grey and JWT prior to setting up Blak Labs in 2010. After she graduated from NAFA with a Diploma in Graphic Design in 1991, she worked and saved up enough to earn her degree overseas at RMIT, Melbourne. She has received global recognition at international awards where she has also been a jury. She believes in hard work, right attitude and passion. She contributes her time to Art schools.

Knox Balbastro, Staff Content Strategist, Alibaba group

Knox’s life motto is “evolve always”. That’s why her career has spanned every shape and screen creativity can fit in-from activations to TVCs, tech builds to social media. As the former social media creative lead at Digitas, she pushed creative boundaries creating campaigns for Disney Studios, Marvel, and Star Wars across the region. Now she’s championing creativity at the Alibaba headquarters in Hangzhou, China. In 2016, she was chosen for the Cannes Lion See It Be It Class of 2016. In 2019, the program had its debut at Spikes Festival with her as a co-lead.

Wendy Walker, Senior Director Marketing APAC, Salesforce

Wendy Walker brings more than 20 years of marketing experience spanning a variety of industries and covering all disciplines. In her role at Salesforce, Wendy leads marketing across the region; helping businesses grow and connect with their customers, partners and employees. As a passionate advocate for Equality, she is also President of the Salesforce Asia Women’s Network; with a charter to empower, invest & amplify the progress of women, creating gender-equality allies and taking action on equality.

Jennie Morris, Chief Creative Officer, Publicis Singapore

A career that has spanned three continents, every conceivable category and almost every platform, Jennie has helped create some of Australia’s most loved campaigns – from Tim Tam to Toyota. In 2006 Jennie moved to BBDO Dubai to take on the creative lead role on the Emirates Airlines business. She later became the first female ECD in the UAE and was a co-founder of the Dubai Creative Club to foster the region’s burgeoning creativity. Jennie has called Singapore home for the past nine years – seven of which she has spent within the Publicis Groupe.

Ruchi Sharma, Founder & Chief Creative Officer, HumanSense

Ruchi Sharma is the Founder & Chief Creative Officer of HumanSense, an independent HumanCentric creative agency, from the charming island of Sri Lanka. Her career spans more than two decades, spent in New York, Bangkok, South East Asia, India and Sri Lanka. She has worked in leadership roles in most of the large agency networks. And has won several international, regional and local awards, in creativity and effectiveness, proving that her work resonates on both scales. Ruchi has served on many Creative and Effectiveness International Advertising juries.

Uma Rudd Chia – Co-Founder & Executive Creative Director, KVUR

An award-winning Creative Director with a passion for technology and innovation. After over a decade as global and regional creative director at a variety of multi- national ad agencies, she left to start up and run the creative department at Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading PR and Comms agencies. She is the founder of the Female Idea, a movement that champions diversity in creativity and the notion that ideas are not gender-neutral. She holds an M.A. in Digital Media Management and Technology from Hyper Island. She’s also an international keynote speaker on futurism, women leadership and creativity.
