PATTAYA, THAILAND — The most celebrated regional creative festival in Asia, ADFEST, is kicking off this year’s event by saying HI. “Human Intelligence,” or “HI,” takes the spotlight as the theme of the 2024 program. Agencies all over the Asia Pacific have eagerly waited to find out today, March 20, if their works have made the cut for the finals. The Philippines nabbed eight finalist campaigns from four agencies. GIGIL leads the list of finalists, closely followed by MullenLowe Treyna, VML Philippines, and TBWA\ Santiago Mangada Puno.
Here’s a breakdown of the Philippine-based agencies and their finalist spots:
- GIGIL — three nominations
- MullenLowe Treyna — two nominations
- VML Philippines — two nominations
- TBWA\ Santiago Mangada Puno — one nomination
GIGIL
GIGIL takes the top spot as the Philippine-based agency with the most number of nominations. Three of its campaigns each earned a finalist spot.
Two of the campaigns are the only PH finalists in the Film category. “Bag” for Mandaue Foam gained recognition under the subcategory Online Film: Consumer Goods, while “Cool” for Coco Tea received a nod under the subcategory Viral Film.
The reality-bending “4Dish Pot” installation for Netflix earned a spot in the Outdoor category, under the subcategory Interactive & Immersive Experiences.
MullenLowe Treyna
Garnering two nominations is MullenLowe Treyna for its “Right to Care” card which aims to empower LGBTQIA+ couples in Quezon City, one of the biggest city populations in the country. The initiative earned a nomination for the PR category, under the subcategory Public Services & Cause Appeals, and another for the Sustainable category, under the subcategory Health & Well-being.
VML Philippines
KitKat and VML Philippines proved that having a break can yield productive results too. The campaign “Punctuation Breaks: Comma” earned two nominations: one for the Press category, under the subcategory Products & Services with a focus on Consumer Goods, and another for the Radio & Audio category, under the subcategory Audio Craft with a focus on Script.
TBWA\ Santiago Mangada Puno
Rounding up the list of Philippine finalists is TBWA\ Santiago Mangada Puno with its campaign for Pacific Paint (Boysen Philippines), “Venus Flytrap.” It earned a spot for the Outdoor category, under the subcategory Consumer Goods.
ADFEST 2024 will be held from March 21 to March 23, 2024 at the Pattaya Exhibition And Convention Hall (PEACH), Royal Cliff Hotels Group, Pattaya, Thailand.
