IMMAP’s Digital Young Creators Competition kicks off with learning and mentoring

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Internet & Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP), the center of excellence and innovation shaping the future of digital marketing in the country, has launched the Digital Young Creators Competition. This year, it came with a boot camp with learning sessions and mentoring breakouts from the country’s best of the best. 

“There are two great things that can happen to you here. The best thing is you win, and the next best thing is you learn,” said IMMAP DYC Chairperson Raymund Sison as he welcomed over 80 young creators from digital agencies, creative agencies, and content creation agencies, including brands. 

The learning sessions fired up all the teams starting with Ogilvy Philippines’ Executive Creative Director Chino Jayme who shared his tricks on how to crack the brief. Wunderman Thompson’s Group Creative Director Maan Bautista gave away the many ways to go for the wow as they craft the work. Propel Manila’s Executive Director Jao Bautista engaged the audience with framing that matters as they present their work. Young Competition Winner Rica Manuel shared her personal tips on young competitions. Google’s Country Creative Lead Peach Natividad inspired the teams with all the possibilities of Gen AI.

Finally, IMMAP DYC Director for Competition Roman Olivares revealed the brief that the young creators needed to crack, craft, and present within 48 hours. 

The Bootcamp ended with mentoring breakouts divided into two parts. The first part got the teams matched to a mentor while the second part allowed any team to approach any mentor they wanted to talk to. All speakers served as mentors. With special participation of Mullenlowe TREYNA’s Creative Director Mylo De Borja, including IMMAP DYC Director for Creative andMarketing Rizza Garcia and Ramon Alfonso who also served as mentors. 

The ten best teams will be chosen from the preliminary round to move forward to the finals, where they will present their cases live to a jury composed of industry leaders from creative agencies, digital agencies, brand and marketing, tech, and content creation. 

The winning team will be announced at the Boomerang Awards on October 20 and represent the country to compete in Young Lotus in Adfest 2024 in Pattaya, Thailand.
