Alex Shipley returns to Leo Burnett as VP, ECD for Korea

ASIA-PACIFIC – SEOUL, KOREA, OCTOBER 22, 2010 – Dong Wook Kim, president of Leo Burnett Korea, announced today, the appointment of Alex Shipley to Vice President, Executive Creative Director. 
 
In his new role, Shipley will lead and work with a diverse creative team creating integrated campaigns for leading Korean and multinational clients. This appointment marks a return to Leo Burnett for Shipley who was with the agency in Singapore 10 years ago.
 
Speaking about the appointment, Kim said,” Alex’s wealth of experience in the industry and more importantly, a solid understanding of Asia having spent more than 10 years living and working in this part of the world is invaluable. We are excited to have him on board with us, to enhance our commitment towards developing Humankind communications for our clients.”  
 
Shipley Shipley graduated in Marketing and Business Administration from the University of Washington and has traveled extensively. He started out as a copywriter with Ogilvy & Mather Direct (now Ogilvy One), taking hom gold, silver, bronze and honourable mention from the Direct Marketing Association’s International ECHO Awards in his first year. 
 

In the 22 years since, Shipley has worked with leading through-the-line agencies in Singapore, Canada and Vietnam, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett and Lowe, on blue-chip brands including McDonald’s, Unilever, P&G, Prudential, American Express, Electrolux and Nokia, and his work has won numerous international awards.
