CANNES, FRANCE — At Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2023, the week-long celebration of outstanding works by the top creative minds from across the globe is ramping up. As the anticipation for more winner announcements grows, shortlists for the various categories will also continue to be released throughout the week.
For the second day of the prestigious festival, Cannes Lions will be unveiling the winners in the categories under Craft: Design Lions, Digital Craft Lions, Film Craft Lions, and Industry Craft Lions. Still in the running for the coveted trophies are the shortlisted Craft entrants, which include agencies from Lebanon, UAE, India, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, China, and Kuwait.
A standout among the Asia-based agencies is Denstu Inc. from Japan with 11 shortlisted entries across the craft categories. In addition to its most shortlisted entry, “My Japan Railway” for JR Group, the agency’s shortlists also included its work for Gucci, Future Design Shibuya General Incorporated Association, Suntory, With ALS, The One Show 2022 Exhibition in Tokyo, and The One Show 2022 Exhibition in Japan.
Also rising to the top is A Train of Memories, a film created for Sotetsu. The work by Japan-based agencies Six Inc., Good Design Company, Hakuhodo Inc., and Hakuhodo Kettle Inc. obtained a total of seven shortlist spots across the Craft section.
