VML Singapore and Cheil Worldwide lead MAD Stars finalist entries

BUSAN, REPUBLIC OF KOREA — MAD Stars, the international conference celebrating excellence in creativity, marketing, and advertising, has revealed its finalists ahead of the much-awaited festival to be held on August 21 to 23 at BEXCO in Busan, Korea.

In this 17th year, MAD Stars takes on the theme of “AIM: Aim Marketing Success with AI,” putting the spotlight on the best works that blend marketing, advertising, and digital content – fully committing to its promise of being the ultimate “MAD TECH” festival. The works that best represent this will be showcased at the show, with winners to be announced on the festival’s culminating night.

Breaking down the numbers, the award show’s home country dominates with 70 finalist spots, followed by Japan at 59. Thailand comes in third with 43 entries, then China with 32, and Singapore rounding out the top five with 31 entries. The Philippines closely follows with 26 entries making it into the finalist roster.

On the other hand, VML Singapore takes the lead among all participating agencies with 25 finalist spots, followed by Cheil Worldwide (Korea) with 24, then a tie between TBWA/MEDIA ARTS LAB (Japan) and Dentsu Inc. Japan at 14 entries each, with McCann Worldgroup India close behind at 13 entries. Additionally, Dentsu Creative Philippines takes the lead locally with seven finalist entries.

Looking at the entries securing the highest number of finalist spots, “Shot on iPhone | Midnight” by TBWA\MEDIA ARTS LAB (Japan) for iPhone leads with 14 spots across different categories; followed by a tie between “LUX ‘The End'” by VML Singapore for Unilever and “The National Sport of Kazakhstan” by GForce (Kazakhstan) for RUH Fighting Championship with 10 entries each. Cheil Worldwide‘s “Try Galaxy Fold Experience” campaign for Samsung Electronics secures nine finalist spots. At the same time, both “Peel the Tape, Heal the Earth” by Angle (Korea) for SK Telecom and “The Sound of Violence” by Cheil Hong Kong for Save the Children each nab eight finalist spots.
