BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA — Set to challenge and inspire junior creatives, MAD STARS has officially opened its NEW STARS 2024 competition.
This opportunity spotlights outstanding talent to potential employers throughout the region and offers junior creatives an immersive experience in one of Asia’s most vibrant creative hubs. The Gold award winner will also receive a workation in Busan, Korea’s most picturesque coastal city.
The competition aims to develop the creative skills that will fast-track career paths, showcase junior creatives’ ideas and abilities, and enhance their network, introducing them to mentors and judges from the industry’s top tiers.
NEW STARS is the headstart for creatives worldwide who are under five years in their career and aspire to learn and develop their experience to soar. It is scheduled to run from August 20 to 23 for four days at BEXCO in Busan, Republic of Korea. Its judges are composed of ten top-level industry professionals from eight countries.
Participants may apply as individuals or teams of two. They may also be specializing in occupations such as marketing, public relations, advertising, or technology.
Applications are open from April 02 to June 06. Those interested may fill out the registration form on the MAD STARS website (only in English). Participants will be selected based on their clear reasons for applying, the introduction they create, and their sincerity toward NEW STARS and their careers. Accepted finalists will be announced on the NEW STARS website on June 15. Registration is priced at US$1,300.
The competition will run over two days, followed by judging and several benefits. These include special sessions and conversations with jury members and plenty of time to absorb, enjoy and by inspired by the MAD STARS festival. Other benefits include being invited to the MAD STARS Opening ceremony and Gala, the NEW STARS networking Party, MAD STARS networking party and MAD STARS Awards Show and Closing Gala.
NEW STARS finalists also receive accommodation and meals for five nights and six days (airfare and transportation costs are not provided), free registration to access MAD STARS 2024 (full package), a trophy for all winners Bronze and above, and certificates of participation for all finalists.
Kazuhide Adachi, Creative Director at Dentsu and NEW STARS judge last year, commented, “The nurturing of young people is necessary so that this industry doesn’t become old and desolate. I think they will destroy what they think is wrong with this industry one after another and rebuild it with a new perspective.”
