Media Wise Communications triumphs with 2 Gold Quill Awards for ‘Playing the Course’

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Media Wise Communications, fresh from its golden wins just last year, has made a triumphant return to the Gold Quill Awards this year with a rare two-gold feat with the coffee-table book Playing the Course: 25 Years of the Riviera Golf Lifestyle. The twin wins, one for publication and another for design, were announced by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). This organization recognizes excellence in strategic communication worldwide via its annual IABC Gold Quill Awards of Excellence and Awards of Merit. Hundreds of entries from around the world qualify for the prestigious awards yearly. The 2024 IABC Gold Quill Awards saw 378 entries from 17 countries evaluated.

Playing the Course was produced in tandem with the Riviera Golf Club, a top-tier golf club in the Philippines and one of Asia’s best golf destinations. It earned high plaudits from the judges, including: “The book’s content is organized well, using golf metaphor and structure. There is a consistency challenge combining modern lush professional landscape photography with lower-quality historic images. . .” and “It is a beautiful piece of artwork for the eyes (evokes emotions. I would want such a book if I had a coffee table, and if I played golf.)”

Atty. Raul Ilagan Jr., Chairman of the 25th-year anniversary celebration and Riviera Golf Club treasurer, together with Media Wise Communications president and Executive Publisher Ramoncito Ocampo Cruz, will receive the two Gold Quills at the IABC World Conference on June 25 in Chicago.
