CANNES, FRANCE — On the final day of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Ogilvy Singapore was awarded the top award for the Glass: The Lion For Change category for its “Transition Body Lotion” campaign for Unilever and Vaseline

This win marks the first-ever Grand Prix of Singapore in Cannes Lions, awarded for Vaseline’s groundbreaking step in launching the Transition Body Lotion, the world’s first clinically proven skincare product specifically designed by and for transgender women.

‘Transition Body Lotion” is an industry-first, clinically proven skincare product by the personal care giant that aims to tackle the specific needs of transgender women. Specifically, it contains Isoflavones, a plant-based oestrogen that had never been used in the category. By adding this, the lotion helps regulate the hormonal imbalance derived from gender-affirming therapy.

Jury President of Glass: The Lion for Change, Cindy Gallop, Founder & CEO of MakeLoveNotPorn, Global, said: “Vaseline’s ‘Transition Body Lotion’ impressed the entire Glass Lion Jury with its demonstration of how driving social change is good business. The two-year R&D process conducted in close collaboration with the target customer on the principle of ‘Nothing about us without us’, the innovation of isoflavones, and the delivery of product efficacy while making its customers feel seen, respected and included, represent a holistic approach to gender equality at its finest and made it an easy unanimous decision to award Vaseline the Glass Grand Prix.”

In her opening speech before awarding Glass Lions winners, Cindy also shared her jury direction for Glass, calling it “the Lions category where you are free to exercise extreme cynicism.” She then explained that by doing so, they as a jury have ensured that the winners of Glass Lions have demonstrated against that very rigorous lens, and signals that the brands behind these campaigns are “dedicated to tackling systemic, endemic, and entrenched gender inequality that they have proven their effectiveness at doing so and that they are committed to continuing and scaling that effectiveness and commitment for many many years to come.”

The Glass Lions winners of this year, according to Cindy, are representatives of the absolute best when it comes to proving that “driving social change is great for business.”
