MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), in partnership with DDB Group Philippines and its Total Experience™ agency Tribal Worldwide Philippines, continue to reap local and international awards for their campaign against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).
The #BeatOSAEC campaign’s short film Play, which is part of the Family Business series, recently clinched a Film Craft Lotus – Bronze award at the recently concluded ADFEST 2025, Asia’s premiere international festival of advertising creativity, held this year in Pattaya, Thailand. Out of 170 international film entries in the Film Craft Lotus, “Play” stood out as one of the 16 Bronze Awardees.

The Family Business short films, comprising Play and Mirror, were produced and published by PCW and DDB Group Philippines in March 2024 to raise awareness on online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM). Inspired by real-life experiences, the short films shed light on the alarming issue of child abuse in the Philippines, where one in 100 children falls victim to exploitation.
This ADFEST win came on the heel of the films’ winning a Meritorious Technical Award of Excellence in the “Reverence for Family Unit, Marriage, or Responsible Parenthood” Values Category at the 12th Araw Values Awards organized by the Advertising Foundation of the Philippines.
Urging audiences to take action against online child exploitation through emotional storytelling, these advocacy films had also previously won a GOLD Anvil Award at the 60th Anvil Awards in January 2025.
In addition to these, Family Business: Play is also vying for another award after being announced as a finalist at Spikes Asia 2025. The results of which will be announced in the latter part of April in Singapore.
Expressing her appreciation, PCW Officer-in-Charge Executive Director Nharleen Santos-Millar, emphasized the broader impact of the award.

“The PCW is humbled by these recognitions which we share with our stakeholders, especially the women and children facing intersecting gender issues. PCW will continue to develop knowledge products and IEC materials that will amplify the prevailing gender issues in our society, ensuring that more people are informed and inspired to take action against gender-based discrimination,” Nharleen said.
Diane Chua, Managing Director of Tribal Worldwide Philippines, The Total Experience (TM) agency under DDB Group Philippines, said that working with PCW for this project has been a great honor as this not only brought attention and action to a critical public issue, but has also been receiving recognitions from esteemed organizations locally and internationally.
“These recognitions attest to our partnership project’s impact and creative brilliance. The advocacy films tackle the pervasive issue of online abuse of children, often perpetrated by family members they love and trust. We hope this underscores the importance of responsible parenthood and community action in protecting Filipino children from online predators,” she said.
Barely a year since their release, the Family Business short films have helped drive meaningful action in the fight against OSAEC. What was once dismissed as a “family matter” is now recognized by more Filipinos as a public issue that the nation must address to create a safer society for children.
