CANNES, FRANCE — The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has concluded this year’s event with the fifth awards night, releasing winners from the festival’s first-ever category, Film Lions, as well as the Titanium Lions, Sustainable Development Goals Lions and Glass: The Lion for Change, along with this year’s Special Award winners.
On the last day of the festival, Asian agencies showed up in what is considered to be one of the toughest categories to win at Cannes Lions. Eight different agencies from Asia nabbed metals from the Film Lions category, with seven coming from Thailand alone. The Philippines and Singapore each brought home one metal each.
Bangkok agencies Leo Burnett and Choojai and Friends each secured elusive golds in the category, while fellow agencies in Thailand like Soho Square, WOLF BKK, Ogilvy Bangkok, and SOUR Bangkok brought home bronzes. Notably, all seven Film Lion metals of Thailand came from seven different campaigns for seven different brands, signaling a wider spread of excellence among different agencies in the country.
