CANNES, FRANCE — As the 2023 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity finally kicks off, more and more shortlists recognizing some of the best work around the globe are being announced. Among them is Radio & Audio Lions, with one of the shortlisted works hailing from the Philippines.
Making the cut under Script as the only Philippine work shortlisted in this category is “Ellipsis” by Wunderman Thompson Philippines. The work is part of KitKat’s “Punctuation Breaks” campaign which toasts to the underrepresented breaks that people often overlook.
KitKat’s iconic branding is most known for its iconic tagline that urges you to have a break. So, for audio ad “Ellipsis,” the chocolate brand emphasizes the punctuation mark’s role not just in creating breaks in one’s writing, but also fostering anticipation and inviting the reader to participate by filling in the blank.
The Radio & Audio Lions, which is being judged by a jury led by FCB South Africa Chief Creative Officer Tseliso Rangaka, celebrates innovative content made for sound. Whether it’s through sonic innovation or aural storytelling, the entrants that thrive in this category exemplify creative communications and brand building through audio excellence.
The winners for the Radio & Audio Lions will be announced on June 19.
