SINGAPORE – Gushcloud International, a global technology-driven digital talent and media company, announced today the launch of its live commerce unit GC LIVE which operates premium live commerce shows distributing global brands into Southeast Asia.

The launch comes following Gushcloud’s move to further establish itself as a global business. Driven by its vision to be the leading live commerce network in Southeast Asia, GC LIVE operates premium Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) production with top influencers. Open Broadcaster Software is an open-source streaming software for mixing and producing live video content. Powered by this technology, GC LIVE is able to provide and create high-definition live streaming shows all over Southeast Asia.

To lead the team to the top, Gushcloud appointed the former head of Kumu Live Mary Shynne Santos as the Regional Head for the live commerce division.

“Live commerce is the future and the GC LIVE team is ready to take on more global brands and content and localize it into Southeast Asia. I’m a firm believer that great things in the business are never done by one person, but by a team of people which is why I’m excited to be leading a group of talented individuals to success,” said Santos.

A team player and an inspiration, Santos led her team to produce the first-ever cross-border show for Lazada Philippines, “Reel K-Hauls with Jessica Lee.” The weekly show, which ran from October to December 2021 and marked Gushcloud’s Live Commerce pilot project, drew an average of 15,000 viewers per episode and was consistently the top trending show on LazLive, Lazada’s in-app live streaming feature.

“GC LIVE produced “Reel K-Hauls with Jessica Lee,” the first-ever cross-border show for Lazada PH and I’d say we started off with a bang! I believe that teamwork is the key to every successful project and the team definitely showed that. The show ran for 3 months and we hit our targets and all items were sold out,” added Santos.

Aside from “Reel K-Hauls with Jessica Lee,” GC LIVE produced the first-ever “Asean Live Commerce Festival” which was broadcast to Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. The unit also boasts a network of top influencers such as Eric Lim (Singapore), Bandung Oppa (Indonesia), Rosakis (Indonesia), and Kem (Vietnam), as well as big multinational brands such as Amore – Innisfree.

“The launch of GC Live would definitely open doors for our talents and GCPH. Our team is excited to roll out live commerce executions that utilize our roster talents. This is not just a new revenue stream that we’re excited to have, but more importantly, an avenue for talent growth and multifaceted upskilling,” said Felice Olondriz, Head of Talents of Gushcloud Philippines.

“At Gushcloud, our goal have always been to create a sustainable ecosystem where brands, influencers, and content creators grow together. The roll-out of GC Live is only the beginning and will open opportunities for the whole ecosystem that we look to grow and thrive, especially here in the Philippines. I look forward to the future shows that our Live Team, led by Shynne, will be able to produce.” said Jamie Paraso, Country Director of Gushcloud Philippines.

“As an organization, we have been investing in our global commerce infrastructure with a core hypothesis that there will increasingly be a convergence of talent, content, and commerce. Shynne is a seasoned veteran in the industry with an impressive track record of building media commerce businesses across the region. We are extremely excited to have her onboard for this key leadership position in the organisation,” said Andrew Lim, Chief Financial Officer of Gushcloud International.
