ABS-CBN wins 26 Star Awards trophies

THE PHILIPPINES, NOVEMBER 2011: The Kapamilya network bagged the Best TV Station award for the third year in a row, with another 25 in its haul for the recently concluded Philippine Movie Press Club Star (PMPC) Awards for Television, now on its silver year.
 
“Umagang Kay Ganda”, “Matanglawin”, “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin”, and “Rated K” raked in two trophies apiece, while “Maalaala Mo Kaya” received the Hall of Fame trophy for Best Drama Anthology, and also earned Best Single Performance awards for Enchong Dee and Ai Ai delas Alas. TV5’s “Talentadong Pinoy” tied with “Showtime” for Best Talent Search Program.
 
GMA 7 came in second in the trophy haul, winning 15 awards. GMA News TV also added another trophy for the broadcast network for Best Documentary Special. Newcomer TV5 took home six, including the Best Variety Show award for “Willing Willie”.
 
Studio 23, ABS-CBN’s sister network, won three awards, while Net25 and UNTV 37 received two and one awards, respectively.
 
The 25th PMPC Star Awards was held last November 22 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.
