MANILA, APRIL 15, 2013 – International and regional award show favorites from the Philippines have secured shortlist slots at the 2013 CLIO Awards, which has released its first partial shortlist.
Ace Saatchi & Saatchi’s ‘Tiger Energy Playground’ campaign for Tiger Energy Biscuits has been chosen by the world-class jury in the Engagement and Innovative Media categories.
BBDO Guerrero’s ‘Persistent Headaches’ TVC is included in the tally of shortlists for Film while one-third of the campaign’s print version, ‘Repair’, has landed a slot in the Print category.
TBWASMP’s ‘Project EDSA’ campaign for Boysen Knox Out paints is included in the Innovative Media shortlist.
The ‘Joint Pain Campaign’ made by DM9 JaymeSyfu for Pharex is also vying for a metal in Out of Home.
CLIO’s judging process is known for its democratic and non-political approach to recognizing creative excellence. Fewer than 10 percent of submissions survive the first round to make the CLIO Shortlist, from which juries re-evaluate the work to determine Gold, Silver and Bronze statue winners. Less than 3 percent of all entries receive a statue, and less than 1 percent receive the coveted Gold CLIO. Each jury also has the option of awarding CLIO’s highest honor, the Grand CLIO, to one truly exceptional piece of work in each medium from the chosen Gold statue winners.
This year’s jury chairs are:
