ASIA-PACIFIC – SOUTH KOREA, JUNE 26, 2013 – Over 12,000 entries from 59 countries were submitted to AD Stars 2013 – a 16% growth from last year.

A total of 24 sectors were open for entry to AD STARS this year, and Print received the most number of entries at 2,584, followed by Outdoor and TV at 1,456 and 1,173 respectively.
In terms of region, 2,868 (23.7%) domestic entries and 9,211 (76.3%) overseas entries were submitted, including 1,855 from China, 158 percent growth compared to last year as a country rapidly emerging as a new advertising capital, demonstrating the power of its advertising industry. In addition, the U.S submitted more than 23 percent from last year, and the remarkable figures submitted from Singapore and Thailand, where countries holding their advertising festivals which is Spikes Asia and ADFEST respectively.
Such tremendous interest to AD STARS was largely affected by the group of judges consisting of around 160 top figures in the advertising industry, including Jacques Séguéla, the vice-president of Havas Group.
Over 12,000 advertising entries will be judged for the finals though preliminary screening of the professional judges until June 29. The finalists will go through screening twice, and the final winners will be announced on August 24, the final day of the festival, at the awards ceremony at BEXCO auditorium.
The 6th AD STARS is the world’s first convergence advertising festival that takes place both online and offline, being held since 2008 to promote the creative fields, which lies at the heart of creative industry. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Busan Metropolitan City, and will be held in places in the Haeundae area including BEXCO and Novotel Ambassador Busan for 3 days from August 22-24.
