MANILA – November 27, 2013 – There are only seven days left before adobo magazine’s special screening of Erik Matti’s On The Job, where the local audience can see the film’s international cut for the first time.
On The Job tells the story of two prison inmates played by Joel Torre and Gerald Anderson, who are hired as hitmen and are eventually chased down by two law enforcers played by Piolo Pascual and Joey Marquez. As the chase intensifies and the dead bodies pile up, the four men get caught in a web of corruption that involves everyone from the lowest-ranking policemen to the most powerful politicians.
The international version premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier in the year, earning a standing ovation. The local cut premiered in Philippine cinemas in August.
On The Job editor Jay Halili told adobo that compared to the local version, the international cut is faster paced.
"I personally like the international cut, but I see the value of the local version," he shared.
The adobo magazine screening will be held on December 3 at the Rockwell Power Plant Mall Cinema 6 in Makati. The screening will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. and end with an open forum with Matti and producer Dondon Monteverde.
The screening is brought to you by Bodog Nation, Emperador Light, Franco’s, Manila Wine, and Power Plant Cinema.
Tickets are at P500, with part of the proceeds to be donated to those affected by Typhoon Yolanda. Tickets include welcome cocktails, popcorn and drinks, and the chance to win special prizes.
