MANILA – November 22, 2013 – Erik Matti’s On The Job was the talk of the town even before it screened in the Philippines. Even long after its run in local cinemas, the buzz about the film remains, with reports of a Hollywood remake in the pipeline.
For those who still haven’t seen it and would like to join in on the conversation, adobo magazine will be hosting a special screening of On the Job on December 3, at Power Plant Cinema 6.
This time around, audiences can view the film’s international cut, which earned a glowing reception at the Cannes International Film Festival earlier in the year. After the screening, the audience will also get a chance to speak with Erik Matti and the crew at a panel discussion.
On The Job tells the story of two prison inmates played by Joel Torre and Gerald Anderson, who are hired as hitmen and are eventually chased down by two law enforcers played by Piolo Pascual and Joey Marquez. As the chase intensifies and the dead bodies pile up, the four men get caught in a web of corruption that involves everyone from the lowest-ranking policemen to the most powerful politicians.
The screening is brought to you by Bodog Nation, Emperador Light, Franco’s, Manila Wine, and Power Plant Cinema.
Tickets are at P500, with part of the proceeds to be donated to those affected by Typhoon Yolanda. The ticket includes welcome cocktails, popcorn and drinks, and the chance to win special prizes.
Cocktails will start at 6 p.m., while the screening begins at 7 p.m.
