SINGAPORE – October 25, 2013 – AXN suspense thriller The Blacklist rates high among the Southeast Asian audience, particularly professionals, managers, executives, and businessmen (PMEBs), the channel said in a press release.

According to the press release, The Blacklist’s ratings top all international channels in its timeslot among PMEB viewers in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines collectively. The series has also drawn four times the ratings of the next best English general entertainment channel among pay-TV audiences 4+ across Southeast Asia.

The Blacklist is especially popular in Malaysia where it is the highest rated program aired on AXN HD in the month of October to date, among pay-TV 4+ and PMEB viewers.

In the Philippines, the show shared the top spot on the ratings chart with the ongoing fifth season of the singing talent search reality competition series The Voice, which is also airing on AXN, for pay-TV audiences 2+.

"The Blacklist is a blockbuster addition to AXN’s programming line-up this year that has more than lived up to the great buzz from before launch, and we are pleased that our target audience is loving it,” said Hui Keng Ang, Senior Vice President, Business Operations, Networks, Asia, Sony Pictures Television. “We are confident that this compelling and top quality series will continue to thrill viewers, and expect even greater things from the show.”

The show follows former U.S. government agent Raymond "Red" Reddington played by James Spader, who for decades has been one of the FBI’s Most Wanted fugitives. Brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe, Red was known by many as "The Concierge of Crime," but has mysteriously surrendered to the FBI with an explosive offer: he will help catch a long-thought-dead terrorist Ranko Zamani under the condition that he speaks only to Liz Keen (Megan Boone), an FBI profiler with little experience. What follows is a twisting series of events as the race to stop a terrorist begins. Zamani is the first of many on a list that Red has compiled over the years: a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists.

Starring along with Spader and Boone are Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Ryan Eggold and Ilfenesh Hadera. The Blacklist is produced by Davis Entertainment Company in association with Sony Pictures Television.

The Blacklist airs on AXN every Monday at 10 p.m. in the Philippines, and every Wednesday at  9 p.m. in Jakarta and Bangkok, and 10 p.m. in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
