SINGAPORE, NOVEMBER 18, 2011: BBH Asia Pacific has hired Brendon Smale as Integrated Creative Director.
Brendon started his career as a web designer and cites working his way up through plenty of ‘blood sweat and tears’– as web designer, graphic designer, film & motion graphics editor, digital art director, film director, installation director and creative director.
Brendon spent the last 9 years in Japan, most of his time at Syn Create – a boutique Tokyo based agency founded by Simon Le Bon. He also worked closely on projects with Saatchi & Saatchi Tokyo.
Brendon’s previous clients include Moët & Chandon, Hennessy Artistry, Red Bull, G-Star, Lexus, Jeep, DaimlerChrysler, Marc Newson, Starbucks, Nike, Apple Inc, Duran Duran and Placebo, to name a few.
Among his most notable campaigns – the Moët & Chandon "A Tribute to Cinema" simulated reality video installation, featuring Scarlett Johansson.
A favourite project he directed was with Redbull – on a low budget film about the birth of international Hip Hop "Breaking the Divide".
"Brendon’s "Breaking the Divide"
Said Steve Elrick, ECD, BBH Asia Pacific:
"With a fantastic integrated pedigree like this we would have been daft not to snap him up. Plus we like the idea of having more people with names like a villainous Dickensian character!"
