THE PHILIPPINES, JULY 16, 2012: To celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games, the Coca-Cola Company and McDonald’s present the custom-made Coca-Cola London 2012 Olympic Games glasses.
Glasses in six different colors are embossed with official London 2012 Olympic Games sport pictograms – gymnastics, athletics, swimming, basketball, football, and cycling. These unique glasses will be available at McDonald’s in pink, green, blue, aqua, charcoal, and purple from July 8 to 31.
In order to get a glass, simply add P25 to every medium extra value meal to get one Coca-Cola glass.
The Coca-Cola Company maintains the longest continuous relationship with the Olympic Movement, going way back to 1928 when Coca-Cola first sponsored the Olympic Games in Amsterdam, and has provided refreshing beverages and supported every Olympic Games since.
McDonald’s relationship with the Olympics started in the 1968 Olympic Winter Games, when McDonald’s airlifted hamburgers to US athletes competing in Grenoble, France, after they sent word that they were homesick for McDonald’s food.
The London 2012 Olympic Games marks the ninth consecutive game for McDonald’s as the official restaurant of the Olympic Games, and the only branded food service retailer feeding the athletes.
