MANILA – January 16, 2014 – The Creative Guild of the Philippines has announced its board of directors, led by TBWA\ Santiago Mangada Puno creative director Bryan Siy.
Siy is joined by JWT Manila creative director Joe Dy, who will be heading the guild’s Competition sub-committee. Dy will be working with Blackpencil Manila executive creative director Kat Limchoc, MRM Manila deputy executive creative director Budjette Tan, Publicis Manila creative director Rey Tolentino, DM9JaymeSyfu creative director Jerry Hizon, Draft FCB executive creative director Syd Samodio, and OP Communications managing director Rhona Arceo.
Meanwhile, Ideas X Machina chief creative officer Third Domingo co-heads the Young Creatives sub-committee with Y&R executive creative director Herbert Hernandez. Domingo will spearhead the guild’s lecture and workshop series, Raw School, while Hernandez will be in charge of the Young Creatives Competition. They will be working with Campaigns & Grey creative director Sammy Pasamba, Publicis JimenezeBasic associate creative director Raymund Sison, and World Impact creative director Joey Feir.
The PR sub-committee will be headed by Aspac chief creative officer Joey Ong.
Training young creatives through Raw School and raising the creative reputation of the Kidlat awards are among the Guild’s projects in 2014, Siy told adobo.
"We will discover and train our future talents. Our young creatives are among the world’s best. Our representatives have won in Cannes Young Lions, Young Lotus, Young Spikes. We will win again," Siy told adobo, sharing that the guild will be announcing the curriculum for Raw School soon.
He also said that the guild will be selecting the country’s representatives to the AdFest Young Lotus Competition on January 30, with Hernandez conducting the tilt.
Of the Kidlat awards, Siy shared, "We will make this competition exciting again for everyone. We have revisited the rules for the award show. There will be changes. We will post the revised rules very soon."
"To judge our work, we will invite an international panel of the most respected creatives in the Philippines and the world," he said.
Siy also shared that the guild will be relaunching their website soon, and will be strengthening their partnerships with universities and media partners, including adobo magazine.
4As Philippines will be funding The Creative Guild’s projects for 2014, Siy shared.
"For many years, funding was problem. The guild members were also responsible for sourcing sponsorships for the Kidlat Awards and our other projects. This year, 4As will be funding everything. This is great news for all us," he said.
