THE PHILIPPINES, JUNE 1, 2012: The new Board of Directors of the Creative Guild of the Philippines has officially been given their designations, following their election during the Kidlat Festival in Boracay.
Joey Ong, executive creative director of DDB Philippines, takes on the presidency, and also resumes his previous position as director for young creatives. Aside from a more comprehensive young creative program for the year, Ong said that the Guild plans to move Kidlat up on the calendar to avoid the crush of tourists and vacationers in Boracay. The documentary centering on Philippine advertising, a collaborative project of the 2011 and 2012 Creative Guilds, is also in the works.
With Ong in the board are TBWASantiago Mangada Puno’s Bryan Siy (vice president, director for operations), Lowe Philippines’ Abigail Aquino (director for PR and communications), DM9 JaymeSyfu’s Louie Sotto (director for advertising), Campaigns & Grey’s Mel Aguinaldo (director for industry – local), Ogilvy & Mather’s Eric Yeo (director for industry – international), BBDO Guerrero’s Tin Sanchez, JWT Manila’s Joe Dy, and Leo Burnett Manila’s Alvin Tecson (co-directors for competition).
