GLOBAL – November 18, 2013 – The Digital Asia Festival Awards, honoring the best digital marketing communications across Asia Pacific, has announced this year’s winners, with DDB Group Sydney receiving the Platinum award for ‘TrackMyMacca’s’, their iPhone App for McDonald’s Australia. The campaign also won a Gold under Apps.
Led by jury president Jason Kuperman, Vice President of Omnicom Digital for Asia Pacific, India, Middle East & Africa, the jury awarded a total of 47 winners from a shortlisted 80 pieces of work with one platinum, 13 gold, 14 silver and 19 bronze awards across 26 categories.
The sought after Agency of the Year Award was presented to Colenso BBDO New Zealand, which amassed the most points across all categories.
Colenso BBDO New Zealand won a Gold for ‘Instant News Satire’ for Samsung New Zealand. They also won three Golds for Trial by Timeline for Amnesty International, one under Websites & Microsites, one under Social Media, and another under Charities, Public Health & Safety & Public Awareness Messages.
Speaking about the entries and the standard of work, Kuperman said, “The work that won the platinum and even the gold winners were campaigns that represented digital at their heart and were able to solve a problem in a way that traditional communication cannot. The strongest work had really good craft, design, a good level of creativity and was able to solve a problem and deliver real value”.
From the Philippines, DDB DM9JaymeSyfu won three Golds for their Smart TXTBKS campaign for Smart Communications, one in the Mobile category, one under Digital Media Innovation, and another under Charities, Public Health & Safety & Public Awareness Messages.
Other Gold winners were BBDO and Proximity Thailand, who won a Gold for their Drive Awake campaign for PTT Public Company.
TBWA\ Hakuhodo, Japan won a Gold for Marionettebot for United Arrows.
Leo Burnett Melbourne won two Golds for their Volunteer to Promote Volunteering campaign for SEEK, one under Online Marketing, and another under Integrated.
Iris Sydney won a Gold for Christchurch Reimagined for Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism.

New Zealand took home the most awards (10), closely followed by Australia with 9 and China and Japan both with 6.
