SINGAPORE – October 28, 2013- DDB Group Asia Pacific has promoted David Tang to Vice Chairman of DDB Group Asia. Currently President and CEO of DDB Group Singapore – a role he will continue to hold – David will report to John Zeigler, Chairman & CEO of DDB Group Asia Pacific, India & Japan.
DDB Group Singapore has increasingly been a regional hub in ‘best practices’ extending its capabilities across the region, the group said in a press release.. In recognition of the agency’s success, in his new role as Vice Chairman, David will strengthen and enhance DDB Group’s service capabilities focusing on the network’s Southeast Asia operations and footprint.

With a strong background in management consulting, David joined DDB Singapore in 1998 as Vice-President and was promoted to President and CEO in 2004. David re-engineered the Singapore agency to become a full creative solutions model based on proven results and in the process clinching the number one spot in every creative award show and business ranking table in the city.
In 2011, The Internationalist named David Tang, one of 30 agency innovators globally. Regionally, Campaign Asia-Pacific awarded him the Agency Head of the Year for Southeast Asia. Also in 2011, the Singapore Institute of Advertising presented David with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Hall of Fame, for his outstanding contributions to the Singapore advertising industry. David was twice-awarded Advertising Professional of the Year (by Marketing magazine in 2009, and the Singapore Institute of Advertising in 2007). Additionally, he has been credited with leading the effectiveness drive with the Effies Singapore Awards.
