“Directing is like a conducting a war…

…You never have the right logistics, your men don’t want to fight, you don’t have enough firepower, your hands are tied by armchair generals, the politicians never know what they really want and still, you have to take that damn hill!" – Mike Alcazaren, CDCP

I believe mentorship is an important component of success  in any field you want to get into. This holds particularly true  to  film-making.   Being with possible mentors who will share their experience with you is worth  the  investment. – Sockie Fernandez, CDCP

Would-be warriors or mentorees can hear from Alcazaren, Fernandez and other members of the Commercials Directors’ Club of the Philippines at the 2nd Commercial Directors’ Workshop, organized by director Cris Mojica’s International Institute for Film & Arts.  CDCP members speaking this year include Sid Maderazo, Raymond Red, Mark Meily, Raul Jorolan, Sockie Fernandez, Mark Querubin, Mike Alcazaren, Onat Diaz, Mandy Reyes, Henry Frejas and Teddy Catuira. Guest speakers include cinematographer Lee Meily and production designer Aida Concepcion.
