MANILA – January 24, 2014 – Guys are getting kissed by a “bride” and girls are receiving a bouquet of roses from a “groom” — all without live models or promotional attendants — in an augmented reality experience, launched by Forthmedia at the 5th level of SM Megamall.
Augmented reality allows customers to experience your brand, product or service by adding virtual objects to the real world, Forthmedia explained in a press release. Forthmedia has integrated this technology with skeletal tracking and motion detection to launch not just an augmented reality experience but an interactive one as well, without the need for live models or costly studio set-ups.
Due to its low operating cost, interactive augmented reality set-ups can be used for permanent or long-running promotions in stores, boutiques, restaurants, theme parks, and other similar establishments to allow customers to get a “taste” of a brand, Forthmedia said.
"In this project developed for The Wedding Library, girls interact with the “groom”, by being offered a kiss, a slice of cake, or even a wedding ring. Depending on how the girl reacts the augmented models then respond accordingly. Men, on the other hand, can experience receiving a kiss from a “bride”. They can even have their photos taken, grab it and share it with their friends," they said.
A video by Forthmedia shows the augmented reality experience in action, with mall-goers of all ages being entertained.
